Aztec tribal tattoos come from the Aztecs group of people from a civilization that was in existence in the thirteenth century to the sixteenth century. They have a rich culture and have a very inspiring history. Their religion is has a major connection with how they live their life so much that religion is regarded as an essential part of the life of the Aztec. There is a god to be worshipped for a specific reason for instance for health, protection, fertility, wealth and war. Every god would have a specific symbol to represent it and as a result the Aztecs sculpted icons and images for them to worship.
Aztec tribal tattoos are done not only as a decoration but it also has a number of reasons many of which have got something to do with their religious practices. Children who have not reached the adolescent age were also given tattoos. The Aztecs use the tattoos as a symbol of differentiating the many clans and tribes living in the city. The Aztecs consider the sun to be very important and as such they worship the sun god as an afterlife god. Quetzalcoatl, who is the feathered serpent god, is considered the most powerful of the Aztec gods. He is a god for fertility, creativity and weather. Tezcatlipoca, who is the warrior god, had the Aztec warrior gods paying tribute to him. They worshipped the symbol of the Tezcatlipoca god for protection as they headed to war against their enemy tribes.
Apart from the gods, there are more symbols for the Aztec tribal tattoos which are still in existence to date. The Aztec warriors believe that the eagle symbol has the
power to make them fight for a longer period in a war. Presently, Aztec tribal tattoos are considered to be among the most common tattoos which people love to have. Despite the fact that the tattoos have a more rudimentary artistry in comparison to the other types of tribal tattoos, which are spirally and curvier in nature, most of the people who have sought to have the Aztec tribal tattoos have done that because they want to show their respect to a civilization which was great or alternatively can trace their ancestry to the Aztec people.
